Media Cooperative Committee

The Media Cooperative is a standing committee of RALC that exists to coordinate the sharing of media resources among RALC schools, provide networking opportunities for staff members involved in media operations, provide staff development training, and to assist in the support of acquisitions budgets through statistical analysis of the growth of and spending on media acquisitions at member schools.

The Cooperative (Coop) will meet at least once a year and will focus on the following primary tasks:

• Monitoring the shuttle operation between schools and procedures for booking media
  

• Gathering statistics on the use of the shuttle and the sharing of media and ILL resources
  

• Clarifying and establishing procedures that help us work together most effectively
  

• Sharing information about our respective media departments or educational events that may be useful to members
  

• Budgeting for supply needs

Each RALC school that shares media will have a representative on this standing committee. A chairperson, chosen from among the representatives, will serve for two years and be responsible for calling meetings, attending RALC meetings, overseeing the gathering of statistics, and appointing task groups for specific work as needed. On occasion, other ILL representatives from RALC schools may be asked to participate in our discussions.
